The Project
Honoring Christ in His High Place
Join us in the sacred endeavor to bring to life and honor the presence of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, in His high place within the dome of our beloved church.

Note: This image is not final, but only a sketch of the iconographic concept.
Project Overview
This project represents the fifth episode of our church’s iconography journey, focusing on the dome and drum structures. Esteemed iconographer Vladimir Grygorenko, who realized all our existing iconography, has been selected once more to continue this sacred task, bringing his expertise and deep understanding of Orthodox tradition to our parish. Ashton Commercial Construction (ACC) will provide the necessary scaffolding and preparation to ensure the highest quality execution.
Artistic Vision
The First Phase (2024-2025) of the iconography in the dome will be an iconic representation of the Ascension of Christ. Christ will be depicted ascending in glory, surrounded by the Theotokos, the angels, and the twelve Apostles, all witnessing and participating in this divine event. This central image will serve as a visual of Christ’s final exaltation to the right hand of the Father, as well as a reminder of His glorious Second Coming.
Right under the top of the dome, the drum will be adorned with depictions of sixteen of the Church’s prophets. These holy figures, who foretold the coming of the Messiah, will be portrayed in a manner that highlights their integral role in the unfolding of God’s plan of salvation. The combination of these elements will create a visual narrative that draws the faithful into the ongoing story of redemption.
In the Second Phase (2025-2026), the Dome will be supported by 4 pendentives (spherical triangles) representing the 4 evangelists: Matthew, Luke, Mark and John
Project Phases and Timeline
The project will be completed in two phases:
Phase 1: The first phase will focus on the dome and the drum areas, with work scheduled to take place from December 2024 to April 2025. Our goal is to complete this phase in time for Holy Week, ensuring that our parish enters this sacred season surrounded by the beauty of newly completed iconography.
Phase 2: The second phase will involve the iconography of the four pendentives, with work anticipated to begin in 2026. The exact timing of this phase will be determined as we approach the scheduled date, allowing for careful planning and preparation.
Budget and Fundraising
The total cost of the project is estimated a $411,000 with Phase I estimated at $345,000 (the dome and drum), with an additional $66,000 allocated for the Phase II (the four pendentives). This includes all aspects of the work, from scaffolding and preparation to the iconography itself. Our parish is launching a capital campaign to fund this holy work, and we invite all parishioners to participate in this spiritual endeavor.
